NAPLES, ITALY – NOVEMBER 22: Noa Lang of SSC Napoli celebrates after scoring his side third goal during the Serie A match between SSC Napoli and Atalanta BC at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on November 22, 2025 in Naples, Italy. (Photo by Francesco Pecoraro/Getty Images) With one goal and two assists in 27 competitive appearances for Napoli, only nine in the starting XI, it was decided to part ways with him after just six months.
He struggled to gel with his teammates and Serie A football, but above all clashed with coach Antonio Conte , repeatedly criticising him in the media since the January loan to Galatasaray.
Lang struggled at Napoli and Galatasaray NAPLES, ITALY – DECEMBER 07: Noa Lang of SSC Napoli reacts during the Serie A match between SSC Napoli and Juventus FC at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on December 07, 2025 in Naples, Italy. (Photo by Francesco Pecoraro/Getty Images) It was hoped that the Turkish club would take Lang off their hands permanently by using the €30m buy option, having already paid €2m for the six-month loan.
His situation has not improved much there either, so with two goals and two assists in 17 games, transfer pundit Romano reports that Galatasaray will sent Lang back to Italy.
Curiously, both those goals were in the Champions League play-offs against Juventus on February 17.
There is very little chance of Napoli keeping him, especially if Conte remains, so they are looking for either a quick sale or another loan with option to buy that won’t make him a net financial loss.

What happened
According to Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray have decided against making Noa Lang's loan move permanent. Lang struggled to establish himself at Napoli before leaving on loan, producing limited output and reportedly clashing with Antonio Conte. His form in Turkey has also been unconvincing, reducing the chance of a permanent stay there. Napoli now face the need to find a new buyer or structure another loan, likely with an option to buy, to avoid a financial loss.
Chance analysis
This matters because it keeps an unresolved attacking asset on Napoli's books without a clear sporting role. The reported breakdown with Conte and weak returns at both clubs suggest Lang is unlikely to be trusted in Napoli's core rotation, making this more of a squad-management and transfer-market issue than an immediate on-pitch boost.
Napoli are likely to keep searching for an exit for Lang, while the player remains in an unstable sporting situation.
Treat this as a transfer/squad-planning negative for Lang and a mild roster uncertainty signal for Napoli rather than a near-term lineup upgrade.
