Milan coach Allegri is among the possible candidates to replace Gattuso as Italy’s national team coach.
“A few months ago, and this is what will concern me in the coming hours, I was told that if Italy were to be eliminated, Allegri could receive a call to replace Gattuso,” Italian journalist Pellegatti said in his latest YouTube video via PianetaMilan.
“Be careful, because they could turn to Allegri and in the coming hours, I was also told that Conte is one of the candidates.”
One of the most experienced Milan journalists in Italy, Pellegatti gave advice to the Rossoneri’s management: “What might Allegri say? This is why Milan should follow his requests, give him credit, so he won’t be tempted if he receives a proposal.”

On the other hand, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina has resigned, and so has Delegation Chief Gianluigi Buffon.

According to Gazzetta, even Conte or Roberto Mancini could return to Italy once Gattuso leaves.

What happened
Football Italia reports comments from Carlo Pellegatti claiming Massimiliano Allegri is a possible candidate to replace Gennaro Gattuso as Italy manager. Gattuso has not yet resigned and is reportedly being asked to stay on for two more matches in June, while the federation leadership is also in transition. Other reported candidates include Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini. For Milan, the story introduces uncertainty around coaching continuity even though no official move has been made yet.
Chance analysis
This matters mainly as a managerial uncertainty signal rather than an immediate operational change. If Milan fear losing Allegri, it could affect planning, squad management, and medium-term tactical stability, while Italy's coaching situation remains unresolved until federation leadership is settled.
The likely immediate effect is mild uncertainty around AC Milan's coaching stability, with no confirmed short-term on-pitch change yet.
Treat this as medium-confidence managerial noise: monitor for official FIGC or Milan confirmation before making strong team-strength adjustments.
