Allegri waiting to see Napoli squad after 2-0 friendly victory

Max Allegri said Napoli will ‘evaluate what we have at the end of the transfer market’ after a 2-0 friendly win over Carrarese, with Rasmus Hojlund and Giovane on target.

The Partenopei won their second pre-season test, with Matteo Politano’s curler thumping the crossbar, while Carrarese also rattled the woodwork with Abiuso.

Hojlund broke the deadlock when pouncing on a deflected Antonio Vergara attempt at the 23 rd minute.

Kevin De Bruyne has another year on his contract with Napoli, but does not seem too enthusiastic about the idea of staying under Allegri, who is if anything even more tactically negative than Antonio Conte.

“We have an important season with three top competitions, so we need a squad up to the task, and above all the desire of each of us to put in a good year,” added the coach.

“In order to do that, we must lay the foundations, and in the first six months do everything so we’re ready in March to play our cards in all three competitions.”
