It was a very special occasion , as Fiorentina celebrated the Centenary of their foundation, so legends were in attendance including Gabriel Batistuta, Manuel Rui Costa, and Claudio Ranieri.

(Photo by Gabriele Maltinti/Getty Images) Giorgi Kvernadze cut inside from the left and blasted just over with his right foot in the opening minutes, then Ilario Monterisi had penalty appeals rejected for a clumsy Radu Dragusin challenge.
The Viola responded, Albert Gudmundsson’s angled drive testing Lorenzo Palmisani after good work from Mateo Pellegrino, and Franco Mastantuono’s curler bending inches past the far top corner.
Gudmundsson did have the ball in the net on 19 minutes from a Mastantuono through ball, but started the run a little too early and was caught offside.
Alex Jimenez was booked for a reaction foul on Bracaglia, then Seydou Fini wasted a golden opportunity on the counter-attack by lacking the courage to finish it off.

Fiorentina were extraordinarily unlucky, hitting the same upright twice in the space of a few minutes. First Mastantuono shrugged off Gabriele Bracaglia with a lovely bit of skill to sweep the right-foot snooker shot onto the base of the far post, then moments later Victor Valdepenas prodded it onto the frame of the goal from close range, watching it ricochet into the grateful arms of Palmisani.

There was almost a third straight after the restart, Ilario Monterisi nodding inches over from another Calò corner kick, while Mastantuono swept first time just over from inside the area on the Valdepenas assist.

Mateo Pellegrino turned to flash the finish just wide of the near stick, while Kvernadze almost got a fourth for Frosinone with a shot charged down.

What happened
Fiorentina were beaten 0-3 at home by Frosinone in a Serie A fixture that coincided with the club's 100th anniversary celebrations. The result deepens concerns around the Viola's form and home form, with Frosinone securing a commanding away victory. The 'Canarini' delivered a clinical performance to compound what was meant to be a celebratory evening for the Florence club.
Chance analysis
A 0-3 home loss is damaging on any occasion, but the timing — during Fiorentina's centenary — magnifies the embarrassment and raises pressing questions about the squad's direction and the coaching staff's setup. For Frosinone, this is a statement result: a newly promoted or smaller side going to a historic club and dominating from start to finish signals a well-drilled unit punching well above expectations and could fuel belief for the rest of their campaign.
Fiorentina suffer a major confidence and morale blow ahead of upcoming fixtures, while Frosinone gain a major confidence boost from an emphatic away win.
