What happened

Juventus have been dealt a double injury blow ahead of their upcoming fixtures. Midfielder Khéphren Thuram is set to undergo surgery, while defender Juan Cabal has suffered a fresh muscle injury. The news compounds an already challenging period for the Turin club, who will need to manage their squad depth carefully. The timing is significant as Juventus continue their campaign in Serie A and other competitions, with the absence of key personnel likely to force tactical adjustments from the coaching staff.

Chance analysis

Losing a regular midfielder and a defensive option in the same update is a headache Juventus did not need, particularly with a packed fixture schedule ahead. Surgery for Thuram suggests a medium-term absence, while Cabal's recurring muscle problem raises questions about his availability and conditioning. Thiago Motta will have to reshape his midfield and back line, potentially giving fringe players a chance to step up and prove their value.

Impact

Juventus lose midfield presence and defensive depth simultaneously, forcing rotation and likely weakening short-term performance.
