Agent Beppe Riso reveals Gianluca Mancini ‘wanted to remain at Roma at all costs’ even turning down more money, while Davide Frattesi ‘has a developing situation’ to consider with Inter.

The representative spoke to reporters including FCInter1908 as he left a meeting.

It had been reported earlier in the summer that defender Mancini had received proposals, including from within Serie A, but instead he signed a new contract.

“Gian Piero Gasperini and Tony D’Amico were better than me at convincing him, I would’ve gladly taken him away! Mancini didn’t want to go, he refused everything for Roma, a gesture that he does for the fans.

“I told him, you’re crazy, but he’s happy even though he could’ve earned more, so I’m pleased for him too.”

Every transfer window he seems to be on the verge of a transfer and goes nowhere, so will this summer be any different?

“I still need to meet with Inter, and then we’ll know. It is a developing situation, he has some things to consider, but first I need to speak with them.”

It has been reported that Juventus could make a proposal to sign Frattesi and keep him in Serie A, while there are also Premier League links with Nottingham Forest.

“I won’t talk about these things before speaking with Inter, it wouldn’t be right. Then we will discuss the future,” added Riso.

“Frattesi scores big goals and has a big heart, I’ll talk with Inter and then we’ll see.”

What happened

The agent of Gianluca Mancini revealed in comments that he attempted to engineer a sale for the Roma centre-back, but the player was unwilling to leave due to his strong attachment to the club. This comes amid summer transfer speculation around several Italian internationals. Additionally, the same agent referenced Davide Frattesi's situation as developing, hinting at potential movement involving the Inter midfielder, who has been linked with a return to Roma.

Chance analysis

Mancini reaffirming his commitment to Roma is significant for the club's defensive stability heading into the new season, as he remains a key starter. The Frattesi subplot is more fluid — a Roma return for the midfielder has been speculated for months and any concrete movement would reshape both Roma and Inter's midfield depth. From a prediction standpoint, Mancini staying solidifies Roma's back line while Frattesi's destination remains a swing factor.

Impact

Mancini's commitment stabilizes Roma's defence; Frattesi uncertainty leaves Inter and Roma midfield plans in flux.

AI Insight

Mancini is confirmed staying at Roma, boosting their defensive continuity; Frattesi's situation is unresolved and worth monitoring before the transfer window closes.
