“I have not had direct contact with the Napoli director of sport. However, the Chicago Fire want to sell the player and are working hard on this front.
“If the two clubs can reach an agreement, then playing for Napoli is certainly feasible. I am also aware that there are rumours on Belgian, German and Italian clubs, but so far nothing concrete and no contact with the Chicago Fire.”
The agent was also pressed on some rumours that the Premier League could come calling for the services of Mbokazi this summer after his strong performances at the World Cup.
“I heard about Brentford and Nottingham Forest, but we are waiting for some concrete interest, not just calls to ask for information,” replied the representative.
Napoli had intended to bring in Mario Gila from Lazio, however they must first make sales, and were out-bid by Milan at a cost of €25m plus add-ons.
