Official: Como confirm home venue for 2026-27 Champions League campaign

Como have officially confirmed that they will host their Champions League matches at their regular home at the Stadio Sinigaglia after undertaking a series of renovations that has brought the ground up to the required UEFA standards.

Cesc Fabregas’s side, who qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history at the end of the 2025-26 season, had faced uncertainties as to the host venue for their home matches in Europe this coming season.

Como have played their football at the Stadio Sinigaglia for almost 100 years, dating back to the stadium’s construction in 1927, but given the team’s rapid rise through from Serie B to the Champions League over the last three seasons, there had been concerns that their stadium would not meet the required standards to host European matches in 2026-27.

(Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images) There had been suggestions that the team might have to play their Champions League home games at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, around 200km away from the city of Sinigaglia.

However, the club has confirmed in a statement on Thursday that they have undertaken a series of renovations to ensure that the stadium meets UEFA requirements, which means that the team will be able to play their home Champions League matches at their regular home stadium.

“It means Champions League football will be played at the Sinigaglia, allowing Como supporters to experience the Club’s first season in the competition at home, on the shores of Lake Como.

“To meet UEFA requirements, a programme of works has been completed at the stadium, including the construction of a new stand and upgrades across its infrastructure, safety and operational facilities.

“The Sinigaglia has been home to Como 1907 for nearly a century. Its place in the city and in the life of the Club makes the opportunity to play these matches here particularly special.

“Como 1907 would like to thank everyone who has worked to make this possible, as well as our supporters for their patience and continued support throughout the process.

“We look forward to welcoming European football to Como, together.”
