Monza have officially appointed Ivan Juric as their new coach following promotion to Serie A, as Paolo Bianco walked away for a role at Pisa.

The club fought their way through the Serie B play-offs to regain top flight status after just one year away, but Bianco decided he wanted another challenge, and terminated his contract by mutual consent.

Juric given new Serie A opportunity BERGAMO, ITALY – OCTOBER 28: Atalanta BC coach Ivan Juric looks on during the Serie A match between Atalanta BC and AC Milan at New Balance Arena on October 28, 2025 in Bergamo, Italy. (Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images) Juric has had a torrid few years since leaving Torino in the summer of 2024.

He lasted just 12 games at Roma before being fired in November 2024, then was hired by Southampton in the Premier League only to be sacked there too in April 2025 after just 16 matches.

His Atalanta career in the team shaken by losing long-term coach Gian Piero Gasperini was ended following only 15 competitive games in November 2025.

Juric’s other previous club experiences were at Verona, Genoa, Crotone and Mantova, after being assistant manager to Gasperini.

This announcement means the only Serie A club still officially without a coach is Napoli, who first need Max Allegri to terminate his contract with Milan.

What happened

Monza have officially announced Ivan Juric as their new head coach. The Croatian manager, known for his work at Torino, Hellas Verona, and Southampton, takes charge at Monza with the task of improving the club's results. The appointment signals a clear strategic direction from the Monza hierarchy as they look to stabilize or elevate their position.

Chance analysis

Juric is an experienced Serie A coach with a reputation for organized, defensively structured football, though his tenures at Torino and Southampton were turbulent. For Monza, this appointment could bring tactical discipline but also carries risk given Juric's pattern of short-lived stints. For prediction systems, a new manager bounce is possible in early matches but Juric's track record suggests a slow implementation phase.

Impact

Monza gain an experienced but volatile coach; short-term results may fluctuate as Juric installs his system, with defensive organization the most likely early improvement.

AI Insight

Expect tactical restructuring at Monza under Juric; a new-manager bounce is possible in the first 1-2 matches but defensive solidity should improve gradually.
