What happened
AC Milan have announced the permanent signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. The Portuguese forward, previously of Benfica fame, moves to Serie A after a stint in Ligue 1 where opportunities at PSG were limited. The transfer gives Milan a new center-forward option and signals their intent to compete at the top end of Serie A and in European competition. PSG, meanwhile, continue their squad restructuring under their current project, offloading a fringe forward to free up wages and squad space.
Chance analysis
Ramos arrives at Milan as a rotation/competing option at center-forward, providing tactical flexibility in attack. For PSG, this is a squad-trimming move with minimal sporting impact given Ramos' reduced role in Paris. For Serie A, adding a proven goalscorer raises Milan's ceiling in the title race and in European competitions, while the transfer fee and wages will be the key contextual factors for prediction models.
Milan's attacking depth improves with a new primary/secondary striker, while PSG lose a squad forward with limited first-team impact.
