Rodrigo Mora has landed in Rome to complete his move from Porto, with the 19-year-old set to undergo his medical and finalise a five-year contract before immediately joining up with Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma.

The deal, reported at €25m upfront for 50% of his rights , includes an option to buy the remaining share for the same fee, with performance-related bonuses that could push Porto’s total return to around €52m.

It caps a saga that stretched across much of August, with Roma trying three different structures before finding one Porto would accept, and comes after the club missed out on other attacking targets including Antonio Nusa and Mason Greenwood.

Gasperini has pushed hard for the player and he could be involved as soon as Roma’s home game against Fiorentina.
