Cagliari talent Yael Trepy has been released from hospital 10 days after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool, and can continue his recovery at home.

The 20-year-old was set to start in the opening Serie A match of the season, having already played in the Coppa Italia first round.

However, during a day off from training, he got into difficulty in the deep end of the pool at a rented villa and was rushed to hospital in critical condition on August 17.

He was placed in an induced come to make it easier for the doctors to remove the sheer amount of water in his lungs.
